A tragic story coming out of Amarillo, TX as a young male was struck by 2 vehicles while crossing the street.  A 13 year old boy was hit by a pickup truck and Cadillac Escalade while crossing Bell St last night around 6pm.

"UPDATED 11-18-2013 9:30am;
Upon further investigation and speaking with witnesses, it is believed that two males were crossing the street on the south side of the intersection. The boys ages 13 and 17 were attempting to cross Bell street from west side to the east side of Bell. The boys were in the general area of the crosswalk; however there is no marked crosswalk at the intersection. The older male pushed the button for the crosswalk; unfortunately the younger male took off running. According to witnesses both north and south bound traffic had a green light and the boys were crossing against the signal. As the 13 year old was crossing, he was struck by a pickup in the inside lane, then struck again by a Cadillac Escalade in the outside lane. There is no reason to believe speed or alcohol was a factor on either driver or the pedestrians. The case remains under investigation and will be presented to the Randall County DA’s office for review. The boy’s names are not being released by our department per department policy.

I don't know the boy's name, but I can still say a prayer for the family.  Please, keep this family in your thoughts and prayers today!  This is very devastating, no family "expects" this.  Say all the prayers you can please!  And parents, be thankful for every moment you have with your kids!
