Every year, Countryfest — hosted by radio station WGNA in Albany, N.Y. — is one of the best ways to catch live music from your favorite country stars. As expected, the 2012 festival is sure to be just as much of a hit, with big names like Eric Church, Joe Nichols and Thompson Square slated to perform.

With the past guests including dozens of country’s most talented acts, Countryfest is obviously all about the music. However, there will be food vendors available for concert-goers, as well as other family-friendly activities. A significant portion of the festival will still take place outdoors. WGNA plans to close down Pearl Street for the day to set up fair-style concessions and entertainment. An outdoor stage will be used to provide entertainment from morning to night. Attendance to the outdoor portion of the festival will be free.

Festival attendees who have purchased tickets will be able to mingle and celebrate the summer outside during the day and move indoors for a high-quality arena concert experience in the evening. Josh Thompson will kick off the festivities, with performances from Thompson Square and Nichols following. Church, the headliner, will close out the evening.

Tickets for WGNA’s 2012 Countryfest range from $25-$55.
