For 24 hours the nation's animal shelters are not euthanizing any animals. And you can help save some lives by adopting a pet today.
Amarillo's Animal Control has actually not euthanized any animal since Friday so that there could be a great selection for the public. The Animal Control has teamed up with Amarillo Panhandle Humane Society to adopt out animals for half price.
Dogs usually adopt for $85, but today you can adopt for only $42.50. Cats normally go for $65 but today you can get them for only $32.50. For the adoption fee you get the pet, spay/neuter, vaccinations and a microchip.
If you already have a dog but would like to put a microchip in it, you can do that today for only $15. Great deal!
Nationwide, 10,411 animals in shelters are killed everyday. To adopt a pet you can go to the Municipal Shelter at 3301 S. Osage from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
