The Amarillo Bulls had to come from behind twice to make it past a tough first round to advance in the 2012 NAHL Robertson Cup Tournament.

The 2012 South Division Champions Amarillo Bulls were in Frisco, TX to take on the Texas Tornadoes in their first games for the 2012 NAHL Robertson Cup Tournament.

The Bulls faced the Tornadoes eight times during the regular season beating them in five of the games, three of those victories were at the Dr. Pepper Arena in Frisco according to AmarilloBulls.com.

On Thursday night the Bulls started the tournament the way they wanted to but it wasn't easy. The Tornadoes were always a step ahead it seemed like leading the Bulls the whole game 1-0, 2-1 before the Bulls came back in the third period tying the game 2-2 in the third quarter. At the end of the game it remained tied 2-2 sending the game into overtime.

Needing the win to advance to the next game the 21 year-old forward Greg Gibson scored an unassisted goal 3:06 into overtime to seal the victory for the Bulls. With one day rest the team will move on to play the Fairbanks Ice Dogs, both teams met in last years championship tournament in Topeka.
