One of Amarillo's oldest traditions is back!

For over a century, the people of Amarillo have lined the streets of Downtown to see the stampede of longhorns that have been born and raised right here in the Texas Panhandle.

The cattle drive celebration stems from the traditional cowboy practice of moving cattle across the Plains in huge drives. Similar celebrations take place in towns all over Texas. Most notably is the daily cattle drive in the Fort Worth stockyards.

This year's Coors Cowboy Club Cattle Drive will be held Thursday June 2nd. The cattle will be lined up and will start their walk at the corner of 11th and Polk street at 6:00p.m. following the same route they have for almost 100 years. They will end the cattle drive at the first entrance to the Tri-State Fairgrounds.

This event is sponsored by the Amarillo Convention and Visitor Center.

So bring the whole family and get ready for a good ol' Texas time!
