Amarillo Police Involved In Car Chase In SW Amarillo

Amarillo police were involved in a car chase in SW Amarillo, suspect is still on the loose.

Police were called to the Amarillo National Bank on Tuesday afternoon around 5pm when a suspect tried to cash a stolen check taken in an auto burglary earlier in the day.

The suspect was in the drive through at the bank and the bank tellers were able to keep the suspect there long enough until police were able to arrive on scene.

The suspect was able to escape through traffic on Bell st., the APD stopped the chase due to high traffic. The suspect has not been caught yet and is still on the loose.
