The Potter County Courthouse has been the location for High Noon on the Square for years and years. In fact they celebrated their 25th year last summer. To say it has been a mainstay for many here in Amarillo would be an understatement.

It's always a fun time. I have been to several of them over the years. Even way before I worked in Downtown Amarillo I attended. A great hour to spend watching and listening to great entertainment while eating a great lunch. You can bring your own or buy one from a local business that they feature every week.

This has been a thing until this year it became not a thing. Thanks to the whole covid-19 they have decided to officially cancel for the year. They tried to find a way to let it happen. It would be too hard to social distance while waiting in line for food in the short time you have before you have to get back to work. It's sad it really is. When you think of summer High Noon on the Square is one of the many events that comes to mind.

Center City has been putting this on for the past 25 years. They always have either a group, solo act or some kind of great entertainment. This was a great time to get out of the office and see some of your friends in the Downtown area.

Though this is not going to be able to happen this summer and that was sad to read yesterday the good news is there is always next year. You can still support Center City by joining them Downtown on Saturday's for their Community Market. You can do some shopping on the Santa Fe Depot grounds  The Community Market is from 9 am until 1 pm every Saturday.
