Last second efforts to move the school in order to keep it open have failed for Arbor Christian Academy.
Over a month ago Trinity Fellowship Church parted ways with Arbor Christian Academy due to low enrollment.
That caused the Arbor to lay off over 30 faculty members and leave over 200 students to look for another school to enroll in for next year.
Since the separation between the school and church Arbor was hoping to relocate to Paramount Baptist Church, and Paramount Baptist Church was happy to have the school want to make the partnership.
But plans fell through after the school failed to meet the its enrollment number of 250 to begin the school year in August. Only 193 students were registered on Wednesday when the school met to talk about enrollment numbers and budget.
According to Amarillo.com“Plunging enrollment at Arbor prompted Trinity Fellowship Church officials last month to close the school, igniting the last-ditch effort to re-open at Paramount Baptist Church. That was doomed by the same problem that sent Arbor out of Trinity: Not enough students, and not enough money. Officials needed 250 students but got just 193.”
