Early Monday morning the Amarillo Police Department were called to the 1800 Block of N. Popular for a stabbing. The suspect fled the scene leading the APD on a chase for a couple of hours.

According to the APD:

The suspect had been a guest at the home, where several people were cooking outdoors. The suspect was reportedly under the influence of narcotics. He picked up a knife they were using in the cooking and attacked other people at the home. He cut or stabbed both victims before running away.

Officers received a call a short time after that of someone trying to take an window air conditioning unit from a home. The description matched that of the suspect, he fled before the cops arrived.

About an hour an 20 minutes later cops received another phone call of a man standing in the middle of the street yelling at cars just a short distance away from the other two crimes. The suspect again matched the description of who the police were searching for.

The suspect was arrested with blood on his shirt and hands and booked in Potter County. Both stabbing victims were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

And that folks is why you should never do drugs!
