The Discovery Center is great about having fun activities during Spring Break.  Here is what's going on.

Monday 3/14 1:59- 4:30 pm

Pi Day- Well there's nothing gross about pie, but it’s Einstein’s birthday, and we are counting down to Pi Day on 3.14 at 1:59 pm (Pi = 3.1415926).  Join us for math-themed games and activities and a slice of FREE pie*. Math never tasted so good! *While supplies last

Tuesday 3/15 10:00 am-4:00 pm

Tourniquet Tuesday- Join us as we explore blood and medical science with an injury station, fake blood activities, and more!

Wednesday 3/16 1:00 4:00 pm

Waste Wednesday- You know the saying: 'One man's trash is another man's treasure.' Learn how to turn waste into something new with recycle activities and take-home crafts, dissect owl pellets*, and learn about different kinds of waste! *While supplies last.

Thursday 3/17 1:00-4:00 pm

Take-Me-Home Thursday- Sure, cleaning up dog poo and noticing the slobber marks on your pants may be gross. But having a cute, furry friend that loves you unconditionally (let's face it, you do gross things too) is totally worth it! Come out and adopt your new furry family member from the ASPCA. Plus enjoy science demos and other fun animal activities.

Friday 3/18 10:00 am-4:00 pm

Fear Factor Friday: Gross-tacular Edition- What totally grosses you out to the point of fear? We'll experiment with with a bed of nails, snakes, insect candy and more in the Fear Factor Challenge!  Afraid of needles? The Coffee Memorial Blood center will be on-hand accepting blood donations (16 and older). Conquer your fears and save a life!

All Spring Break activities are included in admission price. Plus enjoy the Space Theater and all exhibits, including our Spring traveling exhibit, GROSSOLOGY: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body.

Who doesn't want to swim on their Spring Break. Unfortunately the weather isn't quite warm enough for the swimming pools to be open. However, when you have an indoor pool with a river and cool slides, it's summertime all year round.

Make time to take the kids to swim on the WT Campus. The pool is located in the Virgil Henson Activities Center

The library always has some fun things going on. With different branches all over the city you'll be able to find some fun activities for the kids at the library on Spring Break.

The great thing about the library it's not just about books.

Friday, March 18th, 10-5p - Saturday, March 19th, 9-4p
Amarillo Civic Center North Exhibit Hall

If you have stuff to sell or you love to shop then come on out to Amarillo's Largest Garage Sale. If you get a booth you can help the kids learn how to sell and how to handle money. Or if they love to shop and find bargains bring them out and shop. Either way it's a fun activity you can do during Spring Break
