It’s no secret that Miranda Lambert and Ashley Monroe are great friends, but the duo singing the James Taylor classic “You’ve Got a Friend” together at the C2C Festival in the U.K. made it even more obvious! During Lambert’s headlining set in London on March 11, she brought Monroe on stage for the cover.

Monroe stepped onstage to a host of cheers from the audience, stopping to give Lambert a hug before they began. Lambert let the fans in on what they’d been doing while across the pond.

“We’ve shopped a lot and drank a lot, and played some music, so we’ll be back sometime soon,” she said. “Y’all sing along if you know this one."

The two alternated lines on the verses, singing to each other with sincerity as fans ate it up. Accompanied by only an acoustic guitar, the ladies’ voices melded beautifully in the chorus with sweet harmonies and a heartfelt delivery. They have sung the song before as a tribute to their friendship, and this time was no different — a true display of the bond between besties.

Lambert and Monroe are in a band together called Pistol Annies along with Angaleena Presley, and the two performed together on Lambert’s Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars Tour in 2015.

Both singer-songwriters are powerful women in country. Monroe released her much-acclaimed sophomore record The Blade last year, and Lambert released her No. 1 fifth studio album Platinum in 2014. Monroe was nominated for two Grammy Awards in 2016, including Best Country Album and Best Duo/Group Performance for her tune “Lonely Tonight” with Blake Shelton.
