Billy Ray Cyrus was in New York City on Monday (July 10) to promote his CMT TV show Still the King -- and what better way to do that than performing in Times Square dressed as Elvis Presley? Seriously, that's what Cyrus did -- with a little help from an NYC celebrity, the Naked Cowboy.

Readers can press play above to watch video footage of Cyrus and the Naked Cowboy performing in Times Square. They're accompanied by security guards and someone in a bald eagle-emblazoned T-shirt holding a cardboard sign that reads "#StillTheKing," but the two were quickly surrounded by fans and passers-by who stopped to snap some pictures and see the show. Together, Cyrus and the Naked Cowboy performed Presley's "Hound Dog" and Cyrus' "I Want My Mullet Back."

If this all makes little to no sense, perhaps knowing the plot of Still the King will help: The show follows Cyrus’ character Vernon Brown (aka, “Burnin’ Vernon”), a one-hit wonder-turned-Elvis impersonator who has struggled with scandal and, after drunkenly crashing his car into a church sign, is sentenced to perform community service at the place of his crime. However, Brown decides to pretend to be the church’s new minister, and he reconnects with a former one-night-stand (Joey Lauren Adams) — but things get complicated when he learns that he has a teenage daughter (Madison Iseman) he’s never met.

The series premiere of Still the King, which aired in June of 2016, brought CMT its highest viewership for an original series premiere. Season 2 will premiere on Tuesday (July 11) at 10PM ET.

In 2017, Cyrus has been celebrating the 25th anniversary of his biggest song, "Achy Breaky Heart." He's released both a "Muscle Shoals edition" and a multilingual version; the former features the song's writer, Don Von Tress, and the Swampers, the famed Muscle Shoals rhythm section, while the latter is a collaboration with Mexican musical group Caballo Dorado -- who scored a hit with their own, Spanish-language version of the song -- and features Ronnie Milsap on piano.

Allegedly, Cyrus also has plans to officially change his name, both professionally and legally, to only his last name, Cyrus, in late August.
