Following the success of Brad Paisley‘s recent single, “Today,” fans are breathlessly awaiting the country superstar’s 11th studio album. He’s hinted at big-time collaborators, released a few tracks and shared the project’s release date — and below, The Boot has rounded up everything that’s been revealed so far about the record.

The Title

Paisley’s new album will be called Love and War. The guitar master first announced the title of his 11th studio album at a performance at the iHeart Radio Theater in November of 2016.

The Release Date

The release date for Love and War was originally set as March 3; Paisley announced that release date in a press released on Dec. 19, 2016. However, in mid-January, the record’s release date was postponed, according to an email from Paisley’s publicist.

As of Feb. 16, per a new press release, Love and War is scheduled for release on April 21.

The Record Label

Love and War will be released via Arista Nashville, Paisley’s longtime label.

The Album Cover

Love and War‘s album cover features a full-body shot of Paisley, signature white cowboy hat flying off his head, playing his guitar. The album’s title appears next to him, spray-painted in white block lettering.

The Producers

Love and War was produced by Paisley and Luke Wooten.

The Single

The first single from Love and War was “Today,” which Paisley released in October of 2016. On the surface, “Today” is about living in and appreciating the present, but Paisley also says that he’s kept what it means to him “under wraps” because he wants listeners to be able to have their own interpretations of it.

On April 7, two weeks before Love and War‘s release date, Paisley shared its second single, “Last Time for Everything.”

Prior to releasing “Today,” Paisley dropped “Without a Fight,” a duet with pop star Demi Lovato, in May of 2016. At that time, the song was billed as Love and War‘s first single; however, it is not on the album.

The Songs

Lovato isn’t the only artist who’s collaborated with Paisley recentlyLove and War features Mick Jagger, Bill Anderson … and even Johnny Cash! The album’s 16 tracks were all co-written by Paisley, along with co-writers such as Brent Anderson, Chris DuBois, Kelley Lovelace, Lee Thomas Miller, Ashley Gorley and more. Rolling Stones frontman Jagger appears on the track “Drive of Shame,” written by Paisley, Jagger and Matt Clifford, while country singer-songwriter Anderson is featured on “Dying to See Her,” which he and Paisley wrote together.

Love and War‘s title track, written by Paisley and John Fogerty, also features the folk-rock artist, and two tracks, “Grey Goose Chase” and “Solar Power Girl,” feature hip-hop/R&B producer Timbaland. The former song was written by Paisley, Jared Gutstadt, Lee Thomas Miller and Timbaland (aka, Timothy Mosley), while the latter was penned by Paisley, Gutstadt and Timbaland.

As for Paisley’s Cash collaboration: John R. Cash is credited as a co-writer on a song titled “Gold All Over the Ground.” The song adapts a poem of the same name from the book Forever Words: The Unknown Poems — which collects 41 of Cash’s poems into an anthology — into a brand-new tune, and features Cash’s voice at the beginning and end of the track.

The Visuals

On April 24, after the record’s official release, Paisley announced that he would be debuting the project in visual album form on April 28. Paisley created music videos for all 16 of Love and War‘s songs and turned the disc into country music’s first visual album.

“I told the label, I said, ‘Well, you know, as much of a wonderful experience as it’s been to watch [the music video for “Today,” Paisley’s first single from Love and War] resonate with people, I think we could do the same thing with all these other songs in different way,'” Paisley tells the Morning Hangover. “And they sort of said, ‘Yeah right,’ and that’s all I needed to hear.”

The Tour

Although Paisley hasn’t announced a tour dedicated specifically to Love and War, the singer did extend his 2016 Life Amplified World Tour into 2017, with dates scheduled throughout February. From there, he headed to London, England; Glasgow, Scotland; and Dublin, Ireland for the 2017 Country to Country Festival, which took place in March.
