UPDATE: 2:11pm - The bus crash happened outside of Wichita Falls. The bus was struck by a car, the occupants of the vehicle have no injuries.

Amarillo.com is reporting the students were transported to a nearby town by the local fire department, where they are seeking shelter for the time being.

AISD will be sending a new bus to transport the students the remainder of the trip.

 

UPDATE: 1:56pm - Amarillo.com is reporting the students on the bus were Amarillo High cheerleaders. The students were on the way to Garland, TX to cheer on the AHS volleyball team in the state tournament.

New reports are saying the bus crash happened outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

 

Original Story - An Amarillo ISD school bus carrying 21 students has crashed in Bowie, TX. No injuries have been reported at this time, and the bus driver is not at fault.

The cause of the accident is still not known. The bus was on route to Garland, TX for a state volleyball tournament.
