It's game night at the First United Bank Center in Canyon! Tonight the Buffs, ranked 11th, will take on Midwestern State University Mustangs in Lone Star Conference action.

The evening kicks off with the women taking to the court at 5:30 pm. Men will take to the hardwood immediately following.

When it comes to meetings between the Buffs and the Mustangs, the Buffs hold a slight edge at 36-32.  The Buffs also have an impressive 11-4 record against the Mustangs at home at the First United Bank Center.

MWSU Mustangs come into the contest with a record of  4-9.  The Buff will take to the court with a record of 12-1 on the season.

WT has only suffered one loss this season at the hands of UT Permian Basin, and are on a four game streak as they head into tonight's contest. The Buffs are currently leading the Lone Star Conference.

If the Mustangs hope to snap the 27 game at home winning streak held by the Buffs, they will need to focus on stopping the scoring arsenal of David Chavlovich (averaging 21.9 pts per game), Jordan Evans (averaging 17.8 pts per game), Ryan Quaid (averaging 15.4 pts per game), and standout freshman Gaige Prim (averaging 10.4 pts per game).

The Mustangs have their work cut out for them tonight.  If they hope to add a second loss to the Buffs, they will need to overcome the problems they've had following through. Gaining the lead hasn't been the problem, it's keeping it. In 12 of 13 games, the Mustangs have held a lead. They are 2-4 of games where that lead was by at least 10.

You can tune in and listen to the game on Lone Star 98.7 via the web or radio.
