Chris Stapleton’s awards show domination continued on Sunday night (May 1) with a win at the 2016 American Country Countdown Awards in Los Angeles. The singer’s Traveller album won the Album of the Year category.

Stapleton was not on hand to accept his award, and instead he offered a pre-recorded acceptance speech from his tour bus. He thanked fans and country radio while holding the trophy in his left hand. While most winners not in attendance were just announced as winners, the ACCAs made a special effort to involve the “Nobody to Blame” singer.

Traveller topped albums by Carrie Underwood (Storyteller), Luke Bryan (Kill the Lights), Sam Hunt (Montevallo) and Zac Brown Band (Jekyll + Hyde). The album won the same category at the ACM, CMA and Grammy Awards in 2015 and 2016.

Album of the Year was the only category Stapleton was nominated in for the 2016 ACCAs. The show returned after a year off. Florida Georgia Line hosted in 2014, but the 2016 version had no host, instead relying on presenters like Underwood and Jana Kramer to keep the show moving.

According to his website, Stapleton was at a concert in San Diego on Sunday night.
