Chris Young will spend the Fourth of July in Nashville this year, playing a free concert. The country star is scheduled to headline the Let Freedom Sing! July 4 in Music City event.

Set to be held near Nashville's Riverfront Park, with a stage set up on Broadway, Let Freedom Sing! will be a free day of family fun and entertainment, sponsored by Dr. Pepper Cherry, that will also include performances by the Nashville Symphony Orchestra and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. And, because it will be the Fourth of July, the night will conclude with what a press release bills as the biggest firework show in America.

“This is another great lineup that showcases the immense diversity of music that calls Nashville home,” says Beth Seigenthaler Courtney, board chair of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp. and president at DVL Seigenthaler, in the press release. “We always expect tens of thousands of visitors to enjoy our Independence Day festivities ...”

Let Freedom Sing! July 4 in Music City will be the first event of a four-day patriotic party that will also include MercyMe, My Morning Jacket and Margo Price playing shows at Ascend Amphitheater, as well as a two soccer games -- part of the Gold Cup and featuring the U.S. Men's National Team -- at Nissan Stadium. More information about Let Freedom Sing! July 4 in Music City and the other events happening over that long weekend in Nashville can be found at VisitMusicCity.com.

Young recently played the 2017 Country 2 Country Festival in Europe, and will headline the 2017 Headwaters Country Jam this summer. His current single is “Sober Saturday Night,” which features Vince Gill; the song comes from his most recent studio album, I’m Comin’ Over, released in November of 2015. A list of all of Young’s upcoming shows is available on his website.
