Dan + Shay give loneliness an upbeat spin with their new song, "Alone Together," off their upcoming eponymous album, which is due for release on June 22. The lyrics makes the most of heartbreak, telling the story of two broken-hearted people who just might find a little bit of momentary solace in each other. Readers can press play above to  hear the new track.

"I couldn't help but notice / That you were sitting by yourself / Dropping limes in a Corona / Like you're trying to get over somebody else..." the song kicks off with a rowdy drum beat, as the artists invite a fellow loner to share the solitude of a post-break-up night out.

"But if we're gonna be alone / We should be alone together / Kissing over there in the corner / Where nobody else can see / Keeping each other company," the song continues. As a pick-up line, it isn't the most romantic concept, but sometimes there's no better way to dull the hurt of a break-up than to spend an evening in the company of someone who's going through the same thing. "We should be alone together / Leaning up against my car door / Parked outside on the street / Where it's just you and me."

Making the best of a bad situation, "Alone Together" falls in line with the other optimistic tunes from Dan + Shay's upcoming album, including the romantic wedding tune "Speechless," and the sultry "All To Myself."

Dan +Shay will be released June 22 but fans can pre-order it now. Album pre-orders include instant downloads of the previously released tracks "All to Myself," "Speechless" and "Tequila."
