Dylan Scott had a whirlwind weekend. In addition to announcing new tour dates, his single "My Girl" and the upcoming release of his self-titled debut album on Aug. 12, the country singer also got married.

On Saturday (May 28), Scott wed Blair Anderson in Bastrop, La. The Louisiana native also credits Anderson as the inspiration for "My Girl." In a six-part video series posted last week on Facebook leading up to the single release, Scott details the making of the song and his journey into music.

"This has been 10 years in the making," he says of his debut album. "A lot of hard work, a lot of tears, a lot of smiles, a lot of growing up. I finally feel like I've reached the point where I can share the story. A story that goes all the way back to sophomore year of high school. Just got my first truck, just started writing songs. I was 15. She was 16."

Each video segment shares a glimpse into Scott's story and the making of his new single, "My Girl."

"There's been a lot of hard work put into this. A lot of years, a lot of time spent on the road away from home, missing birthdays, missing holidays, but it's all worth it. We're chasing a dream," he continues. "We feel like with a song like this, we finally may have this. A true story, true lyrics, things I have actually experienced. Every single thing in this song is me."

He shares that with "My Girl," he decided to write of all the things he gets to see in his girl that others don't always see: the way she looks at him, how she smiles when she's holding a baby and images of her as she's praying on her knees before she goes to bed.

"This is a really special song for me, it's all true," he shares. "All the lyrics mean something, all the little things that I see that nobody else gets to see. Hopefully this resonates with a lot of people out there that think the same way."
