Everyday Amarillo is getting bigger with new businesses popping up, expanding the city limits, or just giving the city a makeover.  If your like me I enjoy seeing businesses get remolded or getting an updated look so then I could go and see what's the new deal after the uplift. Well living near river road and the willow creek area on the north side of Amarillo, well might soon see a new retail development happen.

The Amarillo Planning and Zoning Commission recommended a general retail zoning permit for a portion of land where they wanna start building the new retail buildings. Currently the land where they wanna build  is zoned for moderate density residential development.

It takes two separate votes to take effect on changing the zoning permits. The Amarillo City Commission must approved zoning ordinances first before construction can start. The matter should be paced on the city commission agenda for a first vote September 18.

If changing the rezoning permit passes the vote the city's Planning Director indicates the site could be developed with a Dollar General store first which operates more than 10,000 stores in 40 states. So this a start with everything going right, and which will start bringing in more businesses for north Amarillo, and to expand our ever expanding city.
