"There's no way it's a common sewer rat," Dr. Robert S. Voss, the Curator of Mammals at The American Museum of Natural History in New York, told the Huffington Post. Its like the movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is coming to life and we found Master Splinter.

This GIANT rat was found in a Foot Locker shoe store in the Bronx, New York. After posting the pic on twitter a few months ago the images seems to be causing quite a stir on the internet.

Some scientist believe the rat is not genetically mutated in any way but a rat native to Africa called the Gambian rat. These rats were once brought to the United States and sold as pets. But in 2000 when an outbreak of monkey pox was reported the US banned these rats from being brought to the states. It was probably someones pet and escaped, it is a harmless rat non the less. But would you want to find something like that while your working?
