If disco were still a trend in 2018, it would sound like Kacey Musgraves' new song "High Horse." The singer-songwriter debuted the new track, from her upcoming album Golden Hour, on Thursday (March 22).

A funky, glittery and dance-able track, "High Horse" is Track No. 11 (out of 13) on Golden Hour. Musgraves tells Beats 1's Zane Lowe that the song was "a freaking blast" to create; she penned the song with Trent Dabbs and Thomas Schleiter.

"We all know that character that is just a little high of themselves; they're just a little bit arrogant," Musgraves explains. "I had this title sitting around for a long time, and I have my own ideas about who it's about. Everyone has that character in their life, and then I got to write it, and, oh my gosh, it is the most fun ever."

Musgraves admits that she was "on a huge Bee Gees kick" while creating Golden Hour and thinking about what might happen if she mixed the disco icons' sound with country music: "I was inspired by a thought of a world where all these ideas could come together musically," Musgraves says, "and still translate as good songs if I sat down and played them on my guitar."

Golden Hour is due out on March 30.
