I was listening to American Country Countdown this morning and Kix was sharing his thoughts and feelings about tomorrow marking the  10th Anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. He recalled their first concert performance right after the attacks was not far from where flight 91 hit in Pennsylvania.  Kix and Ronnie were sitting on the bus wondering if they should go ahead and sing this song that night. Ronnie Dunn wrote down his thoughts-that basically they weren't going to let the terrorists stop them from doing what they do-play music for the American people.  They took what  Ronnie wrote and used it as an introduction to their show that night.  Kix recalled once they sang that first line "Sun coming up over New York City" the crowd went wild with cheers and applause and he and Ronnie both knew they made the right decision.

How were you feeling on the days following the attack and what song inspired you through those days?  Please share your thoughts with us below.
