LeAnn Rimes took a trip to the emergency room in Dublin, Ireland on Thursday (Sept. 12), following a coughing fit that wouldn't quit. The result: 100 percent vocal rest and a canceled show.

However, the 'Blue' superstar seems to be taking it in stride:

It all began when Rimes started coughing unconrtollably. She detailed the next few hours with tweets to fans. "Never thought I'd see the ER in Dublin," she wrote Thursday afternoon. "I have coughed myself into pain. The spasm is intense. Being human sucks sometimes."

Thankfully, it appears Rimes' hospital stay didn't last long. One hour later, she was tweeting a picture of the dry erase board that the hotel she's staying in provided her with. As a result of her emergency room visit, the singer was put on full vocal rest. It's not clear how or if that will affect her scheduled weekend shows in England and Scotland.

But she's managed to stay busy -- on Friday afternoon, Rimes tweeted a link to a new coat she bought online.
