Man Arrested For Robbing Church In North Amarillo

An early morning church robbery leaves one suspect behind bars.

Neggye Sabit Omer, 25, was arrested for robbing the Eastridge Baptist Church located in the 1300 block of Evergreen in North Amarillo early Monday morning. He was booked in Potter County on charges of burglary and evading arrest.

When police were called around 4:22 a.m. when the church's alarm went off, two suspects were seen walking down a sidewalk in the area. When the suspects noticed the police vehicles they began to run away.

Police were able to capture Omer and obtain the stolen equipment from the church.
