As you may have heard, Steven Spielberg and company are hard at work on the next installment of Jurassic Park (Jurassic World).

Current release date of the next chapter is June 12, 2015 and will star Bryce Dallas Howard.

So, as I was flipping around the channels last night I stumbled upon the original film from '93 and decided to catch up with Dr.s Grant, Sattler and Malcolm in John Hammond's theme park.

Welcome to the trivia and fun facts of Jurassic Park.

Trivia Question: Even though the movie is about Dinosaurs, do you know how much screen time they actually had in the movie?

Bonus Trivia: Jurassic Park replaced E.T, both Spielberg films, as the biggest box office film of all-time. Do you know who was the next person to do this same trick?

You don't need to be a paleontologist to excavate some of these cool trivia facts.

  • Actors talked about for the role of Dr. Grant (Sam Neill) included; Dylan McDermott, Tom Sizemore and Richard Dreyfuss. Harrison Ford and William Hurt both turned down the role.

  • Actresses considered for the role of Dr. Sattler (Laura Dern) included; Jodie Foster, Michelle Pfeiffer and Linda Hamilton. Robin Wright was offered the role and turned it down.

  • Jim Carey was considered for the role of Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) and Sean Connery was offered the role of John Hammond (Richard Attenborough).

  • The T-Rex roars were a combination of dog, penquin, tiger, alligator and elephant.

  • The sound of the T-Rex shaking the Galliminus in its mouth is actually a dog shaking a toy in its mouth.

  • The sounds of the Brachiosaurs were a combination of whale and donkey sounds.

Trivia Answer: For a film that runs 127 minutes there are ONLY 15 minutes of on screen time for the dinosaurs.

Bonus Trivia Answer: Titanic would be the next movie to replace JP as the biggest movie of all time (1997), then in 2009 Avatar would take that spot. Both films were from James Cameron.

Even the T-Rex needs a little rehearsal time. (I think she's ready for her close up, Mr. Spielberg).
