There is nothing better than a full day dedicated to delicious, fluffy pancakes!  Tomorrow, March 8th is National Pancake Day!

I never need a reason to eat pancakes but knowing that there is an entire day dedicated to these yummy cakes makes it even better.  National Pancake day actually started several centuries ago when the English prepared for fasting during Lent.  They followed strict rules that prohibited the eating of all dairy products during Lent, so pancakes were made to use up the supply of eggs, milk, butter and other dairy products.

Each and every year, IHOP celebrates by giving away a FREE short stack of buttermilk pancakes.  The celebration last from 7am-7pm.  A short stack consists of 3 fluffy pancakes and there is a limit of one stack per person.

This year IHOP is doing something a little different.  In return for your free pancakes,  they are encouraging customers to donate to The Children's Miracle Network.  Their goal is to raise $3.5 Million to give to the non-profit.  Each location is different, but if you'd like to donate you can go to http://www.ihop.com or https://www.cmnamarillo.org for our local CMN.

So not only will you be able to enjoy this delicious breakfast but you will also have the opportunity to help out a great cause.

Last year IHOP served over 6 million pancakes and raised more than the $3.5 million goal.
