Well it's 2011 and with the New Year I've made a resolution. I want to lose 30lbs.   I'll turn 30 in May so I'd like to lose 30 before I'm 30.  A lot of people say to me, "You don't need to lose weight you look fine."  It's nice of them to say, but I'm actually clinically obese.

I'm 6'1" and weigh 230lbs; sometimes a little more.  The ideal weight for a man my age and height should be around 190lbs; so I'm going to shoot for a clean 200lbs.  I've always been a husky kid; but I'm not a kid anymore.

Over the summer I did an endorsement for Metabolic Research Center and lost 25lbs, but it was a "work diet" so it was a "I have to do this for work" situation so my motivation wasn't in the right place.  As soon as the endorsement stopped, the Little Debbies and ice cream came a calling.   The diet did show me something though; what it was like to be 25lbs lighter.

Clothes fit better, I could run further on the treadmill, I swam better, I was lighter on my feet in the racquetball court. It was Awesome! I want that again, but this time I'm going to do that for me not for work.

My plan, eat six times a day, to keep my metabolism going,  eat better quality food, control my sweet cravings and workout.  Mrs McWilley and I are going to split the cooking at the house and she and I have some workout buddies for the gym.  So I'm feeling confident that I can lose the weight by the time I'm 30.

Once I lose the weight I plan on keeping it off and I'd like to participate in a Triathlon before the year is over.  That's my goal for this year; I thought if I made it public I'd be better at fulfilling it.  Here's to 2011 and all of our goals. Good luck to you and your own goal.
