For the small price of $25, students at Shippensburg University in central Pennsylvania can now purchase the morning after (plan b) contraception pill out of a vending machine.

The Plan B one step emergency contraceptive is offered right next to condoms, pregnancy tests and decongestants at the public school of 8,300 students. These are all provided by the Etter health center. The machine was installed at the request of the student association.

The pill is available to anyone over the age of 17 without a prescription. The school viewed its records and found that all students attending the college are 17 years or older.

"The machine is in a private room in our health center, and the health center is only accessible by students," Gigliotti said in a statement. "In addition, no one can walk in off the street and go into the health center. Students proceed to a check-in desk located in the lobby and after checking in are granted access to the treatment area."
