Christmas 2016

The great thing about the holiday season is all the fun events that are available for families.  Some are traditional and some are not.  This event seems to be on the more non-traditional side and it's quirky and fun and it's something that I'm sure the family will love.  Not only do you get to be in the majestic Palo Duro Canyon, you get to see some amazing hot air balloons lit up.

It's a tradition with a lot of families, a trip around to look at all the gorgeous Christmas lights.  Amarillo has some really great places to check out the beautiful lights.  Here's a list of some of the best places to view Christmas Lights.

Every year, the Amarillo Botanical Gardens decorates the gardens with Christmas lights and decorations.  They then open the doors for the public to enjoy.  This year, they have decided to expand and make it bigger and better than ever!

We all love Santa Claus! He's one of the most important guys in our life because he brings the presents on Christmas Eve. Even though he is a busy guy, getting ready for Christmas and all, he's making time to stop at the Discovery Center and have breakfast with you.

On of the great gems we have in Amarillo is our zoo.  We have the best zoo because not only to we have great animals, they have an awesome knowledgeable staff available to answer questions and always put on wonderful events.  Now that the holidays are here, ZOOLights returns for the season.  So mark your calendars and make time to bring out the family for this fun event.

It has become a Christmas Tradition in Amarillo.  A evening where you bundle up your kids and head downtown with your blankets and lawn chairs to watch the great Christmas light parade.

Coming up this Saturday, November 19th, Toys For Tots and Amarillo Vision team up to host a huge toy drive at two Walmart locations in town.

If you have driven on Soncy by Hillside then you have noticed buildings popping up and construction in that area for the last couple of years.  That construction is Town Square Village.  Coming up on Black Friday they are finally having their grand opening.

Each and every year I am shocked at how many kids go without a Christmas.  We have so many great organizations in town that come together to make sure no child goes without on Christmas.  Coming up this week, a fun event that has been around forever is going to collect toys.

I know Christmas is still kind of far away, but I found something that is pretty cool.  A Facebook page that does live feeds from the North Pole!
