We had the opportunity to talk with Sonja Gross with the Texas Department of Transportation about all the construction going on in Amarillo.  She gives us updates on Bell, Soncy, the Interchange, the Loop and the upcoming Bushland Bridge construction.

The construction is a nightmare for most in Amarillo.  However, if we look on the bright side, once it is finished we will have some nice, safe bridges and roads in Amarillo.

If you use I-40 and Soncy at night you'll need to find an alternate route for the next few days.

With Summer in full swing, the weeds and grass will grow.  Please keep and eye out for crews working on mowing this week and more.

Summer heat and road construction, probably not a good combination, so please make sure you are aware of those men and women working construction in the area and slow down in work zones.

Finally no new construction to report, but here's the update on the continuing construction in the area from The Texas Department of Transportation.

We still have to deal with construction, and it looks like more construction will be coming soon! Amarillo just received funding of $105.5 million for more work on roads.  Here's this week's construction update.

The good news, once all the construction is finished Amarillo will be a bit easier to navigate.  The bad news, until the construction is finished we have to deal with all these massive road closures.

Let's face it, everywhere you drive in Amarillo you run into construction.  The good news, they are fixing the roads.  The bad news, it is slowing down traffic all over town and many wrecks are happening because of the construction.  Today, traffic will be slowed down on I-40 eastbound at Soncy.
