The Supreme Court will hear two cases concerning the methods used to draw political maps next Tuesday. Big surprise, Texas is challenging the Court in what could be the biggest upheaval in legislative districts since voting rights in the 1960's.

Texas believes in the "eligible voter" policy, where districts are drawn according to the population of voting adults. The current policy is "one person, one vote," which means voting districts include children, illegal immigrants, and prison inmates in their population count.

The argument is that this method is unconstitutional because it gives eligible voters in certain districts more weight with higher populations, even though that population is greatly inhabited by people who can't vote.

The Obama administration is not in favor of the "eligible voter" method.
