After months of meetings with the owners, players and the NFL committee, the lockout could finally come to an end tonight.

For all of you die hard NFL fans out there who's lives consist of football and hot cheerleaders, but nearly crumbled when they heard about a lockout happening, a meeting tonight at 8.p.m could decide if the lockout is lifted or if it will resume.

For those of yall (I did say "yall", this is Texas) who do not know what a lockout is I will try and explain it in as few words as possible..... It is when the team owners lock the players out of the facilities with no contact made between owners or players until the lockout is lifted, nor do the players get paid.

This certain lockout was made due to team owners and players wanting a piece of the $9 billion dollar revenue made each year in the NFL. Finding a way to split the revenue between players and team owners.

The NFL along with owners and the players union have been meeting for months, today at the owners meeting in Atlanta, in a 31-0 vote was made to lift the lockout today.  The only thing that will finalize lifting this lockout is the phone conference happening tonight at 8 p.m. between the NFL players association.

If the NFLPA agrees to the terms practice facilities could be opened as early as Saturday, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said "If players approve the deal." If no agreement is made then the lockout will continue thus shrinking the chances of there being a 2011-2012 football season. Hopefully tonight something will happen and an agreement will be made and we will not have another lockout discussion until 2020.
