With the water levels dropping at a drastic pace in the past few years at Lake Meredith, visitors are running low also.

That is why there is a new plan in place to bring the visitors back to the historic panhandle attraction.

Fritch City Manager Bobby Lamb told ConnectAmarillo.com "At one time there were boats at our gas stations. Now it's 4-wheelers and ATV's."

The National Park Service is working to build more hiking, biking and horseback riding trails. Because of the new visitors to Lake Meredith their traffic has doubled to the park.
