Travel Is Discouraged On Highway 287 From Amarillo To Dumas Due To Poor Road Conditions

A heavy storm in between Amarillo & Dumas is producing half-dollar size hail, officials are asking you to avoid that area for now.

Half-dollar size hail is falling from a storm in northern potter county in between Amarillo & Dumas. Emergency management is asking to avoid the area until the weather clears up.

That storm is moving east at 5-10 mph. The entire Texas & Oklahoma Panhandle along with Union County, NM have been put under a tornado watch until 10pm tonight.

Again it is only a tornado watch, meaning  these storms could turn severe at any moment at be able to produce a tornado.
