The Rick Husband International Airport is on it's way to become a more high tech airport. In the coming months due to a grant that the FAA has sent, plus some money from the city budget, has a few minor upgrades to the airport.

Only $4,173,575 is being provided for some vital safety issues, and the other part is merely for convenience. Ninety percent of the funding will be coming from the FAA, the Airport Capital Improvement budget will provide the remaining $417,358.

The start of the project has yet to be announced. When it does, the upgrades will benefit the runway lighting, storm drainage systems, wildlife management, and some escalator repairs.
