While stars like Jamey Johnson and Blake Shelton are still reeling from singer-songwriter Wayne Mills' sudden passing, funeral arrangements are being made.

Mills, lead singer of the outlaw-country Wayne Mills Band, who toured nationally for more than 15 years and was also part of a trio the Dixie Cocks, was fatally shot on Nov. 23 after altercation with a bar owner in Nashville. Well-known artists such as Shelton, Johnson and Taylor Hicks opened for the band early in their careers.

A memorial service for the singer will be held on Sunday, Dec. 8 in his hometown of Arab, Ala. at the Arab High School auditorium. Visitation will be held from 9AM until 1PM CT, with the memorial service beginning at 1:30PM. A private burial will follow.

Out of respect for Mills, photography and video cameras will not be allowed and cell phones must be turned off and kept out of view.

Prior to a memorial service, an official Wayne Mills Benefit Concert will take place at Nashville's Tin Roof on Wednesday (Dec. 4). More than 40 of Mills' country music friends have signed up to perform at the benefit, with all proceeds going to Mills’ family. The singer leaves behind wife Carol and six-year-old son, Jack.
