When it comes to public restrooms, they can make or break a place. If the restroom experience is a good one, it can really tip the scales on how you feel about a place.

Studies have shown that about 86% of adults link the condition of the restroom with the condition of the kitchen in restaurants. About 75% of people won’t go back to a place that has a dirty restroom.

I haven’t been inside every restroom in Amarillo, but of the many that I have been in these two really stand out. They are not only clean, but incredibly unique.

Copper Fire Grill ( http://copperfiregrill806.com/ )

Copper Fire Grill boasts a beautiful restroom experience. Not only are they clean but they are also incredibly comfortable and well decorated. The men’s room even boasts urinal video games to keep you entertained while you answer nature’s call.

The 806 Coffee + Lounge ( http://www.the806.com/ )

These “one-holers” at The 806 are pretty standard and very clean. What sets them apart is the décor.

When I mentioned I was doing a story on unique restrooms in Amarillo, a patron immediately wanted to tell me the history behind the restrooms. Her excitement about the facilities was contagious and I couldn’t wait to take my turn.

I’m a big fan of bathroom graffiti, from philosophical meanderings to phone numbers that lead you to the party crowd. The 806 takes it to a whole other level, turning bathroom graffiti into art.
