2016 has been a great year for WTAMU. The university has achieved high honors in everything from athletics to academics, and now they are being nationally recognized as one of the best universities to work for.

The Chronicle of Higher Education comes out with a list every year that showcases the best universities across America when it comes to employee satisfaction. From mid-March to mid-April, they conduct a survey of related content and take college presidents' statements about what makes their school a great place to work for.

West Texas A&M University got high marks in the following areas: facilities, work space and security, job satisfaction, professional/career development programs, supervisor/department chair relationship, and more!

The statement that landed WT on this year's list was from President J. Patrick O'Brien, who is actually set to retire later this year. His letter reads as follows:

WTAMU is like a small community where approximately 800 people come to work every day. They come together as a team because they believe in the university's mission to help students succeed. It's a positive environment built on a foundation of respect, support, camaraderie, engagement, and dedication. It'€™s a great place to work, and I have had the privilege of being part of this community for the past 10 years as WTAMU'€™s president.— J. Patrick O'Brien

Other colleges who made it on the list were Baylor University, Mississippi State University, and Lubbock Christian University.
