I am constantly amazed at what all the panhandle has to offer when it comes to the arts. From music, to sculptures and everything in-between; the Texas panhandle has plenty to offer. A very unique opportunity for artists is coming up in Amarillo.

If you or someone you know is an artist, an opportunity to showcase your work for the public is starting this weekend. The Amarillo Museum of Art will give you a chance to put your work on display.

According to the AMoA website:

The AMoA Open is a unique initiative designed to give artists of all ages and levels of experience an opportunity to exhibit their work in a museum setting. It is open to any artist working in any medium. We will accept only one work per person. Artists must install their own artwork. The show is hung by the artist “salon style” from floor to ceiling.

The opening reception is this Saturday from 7-9pm. There is a $10 admission for the reception. Otherwise, admission to AMoA is free.

This would be a great chance to grab the family and not only take in some of the fine art that the panhandle has to offer, but also have some of your art featured.

The event will be located at 2200 South Van Buren Street on the Amarillo College Washington campus, 2nd floor galleries.

The AMoA Open will last until January 14. If you need more information, or would like to find out how to have your work put on display, check the AMoA web site to get all of the details.
