Two New Financial Institutions Coming to Amarillo’s Booming Southwest Side

Amarillo continues to grow, and now that the construction on Loop 335 has been finished, the area in southwest Amarillo is booming with new businesses.  Over the last few years, the area around Loop 335 and Coulter has seen many new businesses.

Market Street United opened, providing much-needed grocery access.  Braum's and Toot 'n Totum have opened stores in that area as well.  Soon, an oil change franchise will be moving in.

What Banks Are Coming to Southwest Amarillo?

The growth in the southwest of Amarillo isn't ending. Two new financial institutions will soon be moving into the area.

Chase Bank is Coming to the Loop and Coulter in Amarillo.

Construction for Chase is expected to start in January 2026 and end in September 2026. The new building is expected to cost $2.7 million. The building will be 1-story and include a drive-up ATM.

Where Will the New Chase Bank Be Located?

According to the TDLR, Chase will be building a new location at Loop 335 and Coulter.  The new banking location for Chase will be located at 8701 S. Coulter, just next door to Market Street United.

When is the New Chase Bank Branch Open in Amarillo?

We reached out to Chase, and they said that this new branch is set to open in October 2026. Their spokesperson also shared that this branch will offer the latest in technology and conveniences.

If you want to plan your financial future, this new branch will feature six private offices for discussing financial planning, like buying a home, saving for college, or starting a new business.

Where Else is Chase Opening New Branches?

They are also opening a new branch in Abilene this month and in Lubbock in early 2026.

Texas Tech Credit Union is Opening in Amarillo

The TDLR states that Texas Tech Credit Union will be building off Lexington Square on Soncy.

Construction for Texas Tech Credit Union is expected to begin in October and be completed by June 2026. The cost of this new credit union will be $2.4 million. The building will be over 8,000 sq ft.

Who Can Join Texas Tech Credit Union?

Texas Tech Credit Union was founded in Lubbock, Texas, in 1959 and serves those in the healthcare profession and educators, along with their families.

Texas Tech Credit Union currently has a mortgage branch in Amarillo off Hillside in the Greenways Village.

Amarillo will have more convenient choices in banking in 2026.
