Texas Buc-ee’s Employees Rewarded for Reporting Theft Among Co-Workers?
Buc-ee's is a top-notch convenience store that originated in Texas. Visiting Buc-ee's is a memorable experience.
When traveling and you have to use the restroom, it's best to hold it until you get to Buc-ee's because they have the biggest and cleanest bathrooms. Plus the food items they sell are the best. The brisket sandwich is a favorite among many, their fudge is so delectable, and their snacks, are the best. Two words: Beaver Nuggets.
Another great thing about Buc-ee's is their wages. Buc-ee's pays their employees very well.
- Associate wages: $18-$21 per hour
- Team Leads: $20-$23 per hour
- Department Managers $25-$33 per hour
- Assistant General Manager: $125,000 + per year
- General Manager: $150,000+ per year
Recently, a TikTok video was posted discussing how Buc-ee's rewards its employees for reporting other employees who are stealing. It said those employees would receive $500 for turning in a regular employee and $2500.
Is this true?
The question was asked on social media if this was true.
According to a survey conducted by the National Retail Federation, 29% of retail theft was committed by employees.
If this is the policy for those employees it is a creative way to help the company keep an eye on internal theft. However, on the flip side, is the money good enough to snitch on a co-worker? What would you do?
No matter what the internal workings of Buc-ee's are, let's face it: Buc-ee's is a pretty great place to visit for merch, food, drinks, plenty of open gas pumps, and a huge, clean restroom.
