There has been a lot of talk about The Slug Bug Ranch. The bugs located on I-40 near Conway were dug up not that long ago. They were going to move. The plans have changed a few times. Nobody wanted to see this project just disappear.
A couple of weeks ago I was driving around Amarillo when I drove by a certain food establishment during what should be the dinner rush. I did not see any cars in the drive-thru or really in the parking lot at all. When I got to work the next morning I told a co-worker that even though it hadn't happened yet I call the story when this place closed.
It seems that Canyon may have suffered another casualty when it comes to places to eat. This one came without any warning. Those seem to be the ones that hit the hardest. No chance to try them just one more time. The not being able to say goodbye.
Have you taken the time to get your TSA PreCheck yet here in Amarillo? You might think you don't really need it. Our airport never has a miserable wait time to get through TSA. Oh, I get that but let me tell you it is the best thing I have ever done.
Oh, the stories our Amarillo homes can tell. Probably not any as good as this one. We have several homes in Amarillo with a story to tell. We just have to sit back and listen. The older the better. Those have the best stories.
We have this game we like to play in Amarillo. We find new construction around town and we want to know what is going on. Are we getting a new restaurant? Are we getting a new business? What is it?
I feel that in Amarillo we have really gotten good at avoiding the many potholes in our streets. We get to where we know where they are and like a game of Frogger we maneuver around the ones we see. That doesn't mean that we don't get taken by surprise every now and then.
It's great how some families in Texas live. I mean kudos to you for needing a place to park your plane. Also smart if you can find a home that fits that need. I mean it's a whole lot smarter to have a place of your own than to have to pay someone else to store it.
