Television is packed with commercials touting the newest teeth whitening toothpastes and kits. But are these really the most effective way to get your teeth whitened and do it properly?

I have always been told that "you get what you pay for". So, if I go to the local Walmart and pick up a tube of tooth whitening toothpaste for 3 bucks, I'm probably gonna get 3 bucks worth of results. I have come to expect nothing more.

While these product may help a little bit, they are definitely not as effective as if your were to go to your dentist and get them whitened. We all know that. After we get our teeth whitened by our dentist, these are great products to help us maintain our pearly whites afterwards, but not a true source to whiten after years of coffee, sodas, and other foods.

If you're looking into getting your teeth cleaned from your dentist, you want to ask your self a few things. Will this be something I can do at home? Will it cost me a fortune? Will there be people to answer my questions along the way?

If you purchase some kit from some person you've never met before online, how can you even be sure that this is what 'you' need? You want to make sure that you are getting a product that works for your specific needs and that you have people that can guide you through the process.

If you have been on the fence about getting your teeth whitened and haven't gotten it done, here's your chance. A local dentist, Class I Dental, is having their 'Winter Whitening Event'. They will have hugely discounted whitening kits for each person that shows up. Their kits have custom fit trays, not the generics that you see in stores as well as home or in-office whitening. Here's your chance for whiter and brighter teeth for the holidays.
