Texas Fraternity Pulls Epic Prank on Pledges with Powerball Madness
Did you see a video of some University of Texas students claiming they won the Powerball? Sadly, it has come out that is not real.
On Saturday if you were like me, you threw a couple of bucks on a Powerball ticket. The jackpot was 1.8 BILLION dollars. After Uncle Sam gets his piece of the pie, you walk away with around 258 million dollars since that drawing had two winners in the country. One in Texas and one in Missouri. You might have seen a video of a group of kids freaking out that they won the Powerball last weekend.
Texas Student Claims They Won the Powerball
A student pledging Zeta Beta Tau at the University of Texas at Austin went crazy on Saturday night and they showed off their winning ticket as well. Many were happy for the freshmen thinking those student loans are about to be wiped away. Hell they may even drop out and go do whatever they want with that money in the bank. Sadly, this was a prank on the frat pledges.
Texas Fraternity Has Admitted This Was a Prank
According to several sources, the frat asked their pledges to all buy lottery tickets. They were then turned into the upper class man. Once the numbers were announced, they altered one of the tickets to show the winning numbers. They sent it to the pledges thinking they won the jackpot to get their reaction. So sadly, for those kids, your still a broke college student.
Texas Winning Ticket Somewhere in Fredericksburg
A convenience store called Big's in Fredericksburg actually sold the winning ticket in Texas. It's about a hour and half drive from The University of Texas at Austin. So, it does not look like that fraternity was our winners last weekend. Whoever that person is, enjoy that extra cash.
