Recently, I received an email from DoorDash. Great, what is changing or what is going to make my life a bit more difficult? It turns out that was not what this email was about at all.

It was trying to pump me up about my accomplishments, I guess. They wanted to let me know about my numbers. I am not sure I really wanted to see these. I am a numbers person, for sure.

Breaking Down Two Years on the Road

It started by telling me that my first delivery was on August 25, 2023. I knew that I had been delivering for a little over 2 years now. Then it broke down how much I have made in those two years. That total was $21,483. So, on average, about $10,741 per year. Not bad for a part-time job that I do when I want.

Crunching the Numbers

This message also broke it down that I made 3775 deliveries. I believe that. But then, being a numbers person, I did the math. That averages to about $5.69 per delivery. I felt deflated after seeing that. I have to remember that there were a lot of deliveries that were at the same location or very nearby.

Customer Feedback and Ratings

I wished it broke it down by mileage instead of deliveries, but maybe I really don't. I have been quite happy with my time delivering. Apparently, so have my customers. I have received 544 5-star ratings. Which is great since most people don't rate the dasher unless they are mad about something. So I will take it.

A Growing List of Amarillo Restaurants

The one that amazes me is that I have picked up from 241 different restaurants. I feel like that is a lot. When I think about all the places I pick up from that know me now and we chat every time I go in, I feel like I go to the same places all of the time. Apparently, I do not.

Final Thoughts from the Driver’s Seat

It's nice to see a wrap-up of my time delivering. I am just looking to get those numbers up. Especially the money and the average. Here is to more time delivering and making money in Amarillo.
