
Banana Ball Heads to Amarillo — Here’s What You Need to Know
Amarillo has always had a love for baseball. The city was filled with baseball stories last night. Amarillo got some news that brought a lot of excitement to our city.
The town is going bananas thanks to the Banana Ball. What is Banana Ball, you may ask? If you have been sleeping under a rock, you might have missed all of the excitement of the Savannah Bananas.
What Is Banana Ball?
They were established about a decade ago. They started as a collegiate baseball team that just brought a lot more fun to the game. They introduced a new style of baseball.

Over the years, more teams have joined the Savannah Bananas in Banana Ball to bring this baseball all over the country and to some of the biggest stadiums.
The fun is coming to Hodgetown with an announcement that came last night, and Amarillo couldn't be more excited.
In a recent press release from Hodgetown, we heard from Sod Poodles General Manager, Tony Ensor:
We could not be more excited to have Banana Ball come to Amarillo. Our goal is to always bring the biggest and best entertainment events to our loyal Panhandle community, and Banana Ball certainly fits that bill!
Amarillo Fans Make It Happen
There was a recent question wanting to know where to bring Banana Ball to and Amarillo spoke up as Ensor says:
Our Sod Poodle fans have been asking for this, and we are super excited we are able to make it happen for them. We are thankful to have the opportunity to mix things up here at HODGETOWN with something truly unique, all while putting the city of Amarillo on full display for fans across the region.
The games will be at Hodgetown April 24 - 26 and will feature a matchup between the Texas Tailgaters and newly minted Loco Beach Coconuts.
How to Get Banana Ball Tickets
These will be some of the most sought-after tickets, so you will need to sign up for a ticket lottery to have the chance to attend.
It's safe to say that Amarillo is going Bananas and for good reason.
