About a week ago, I saw this survey that was done by dating app Clover that ranked Amarillo women as the 8th least attractive women in the entire United States.

When we posted this to our Facebook, the comments section absolutely exploded. Some were absolutely offended by the survey, some got a good laugh out of it, and some just mocked the survey. All valid reactions in my mind.

There was one though that kind of got my mind running a bit.

Yup, that's the one. Now, as we all know, beauty is subjective right? Some equate attractiveness to someone's personality, others view beauty as the way someone looks. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder right? My wife must've liked my personality, because I'm pretty sure it wasn't my outward "beauty" that got her. But I digress.

This one comment got me to dig a bit deeper into the survey. I mean, if they ranked the women of the U.S., surely they ranked the men as well right?

Well look at that, they did. Now we can see if Michele is right, that Amarillo and Texas men aren't exactly a perfect 10 either.

Let's start with her theory that men here aren't the prettiest themselves. According to the survey, the top eight LEAST attractive men by state look like this:

1. Rhode Island
2. Delaware
3. Connecticut
4. New Jersey
5. Maryland
6. California
7. New York
8. Florida

Notice something there? Texas doesn't show up on the least attractive list. Again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess. However, I DID notice something in this little exercise.

According to the survey, the state with the most attractive women was Connecticut. However, the men in Connecticut are ranked as the third LEAST attractive. You ever heard the saying "outkicked my coverage"? Seems a lot of men in Connecticut are either single, or got themselves a women they may not have been able to get in just about any other state if you based it strictly on outward beauty.

New York and New Jersey also share a similar problem in the fact that they are states with women ranked in the top eight and men in the bottom eight.

So with Texas not being on the list for LEAST attractive men, does that mean they pop up on the list for MOST attractive men in the country? Let's take a look.

1. Montana
2. South Dakota
3. Utah
4. North Dakota
5. Missouri
6. Oklahoma
7. Nebraska
8. Iowa

Hmmmm, well between the least attractive and most attractive lists, we've knocked out 16 of the 50 states which puts Texas men somewhere in the middle I suppose. Remember, Texas women are supposedly the eight LEAST attractive women by state, so if you go strictly by this, it means the women in Texas are getting themselves men more attractive, or something like that.

Amarillo men also didn't pop up on the least unattractive list, so hey, I guess you can hang your hat on that men of Amarillo.

Look, I'm not the biggest believer of these kinds of surveys or lists. They're completely subjective if you ask me, and beauty is something different to everyone. Believe it if you want, or don't, but definitely let it be a discussion point. Let the comments fly, I can't wait to see them.
