With youth sports being such a huge thing these days, everyone is out there looking to give their kid any advantage they can. Look, I'm no different. I always look for things that I feel will make my kids better at what they play.

Things such as private lessons weekly can get a bit expensive for many out there, so you look for other avenues. Things like camps and whatnot are a one-time thing for a one-time cost and your child can learn a lot from them.

If your kiddo is a football player and within the ages of 6-11, then I've got the answer for you.

The Amarillo Jaguars have announced their free annual football camp, and there are four different dates you can choose from. June 5th, 7th, 12th and 14th out at Sam Houston Middle School. This camp is for everyone, whether your kid has experience in playing football or is interested in the game but has never played.

Any time a camp like this pops up, it can be worthwhile. The kids that have experience will get plenty of reps in and maybe even learn something new along the way. The kids that don't have experience in playing will learn a lot about the game, and it'll give you and them a better idea as to how interested they are in the game.

There is no advance signup required for the camp, so you can just show up. They will be providing water for the kids, but you're more than welcome to bring your own as well.

If you'd like more info about the camp, you can reach out to Akeem Thompson at (806)690-0029 or Dewyon Burns at (806)584-1491.
