A once empty building in Amarillo is no longer sitting empty. It wasn't too long ago that we found out that the former Sumo location was leased. It was not going to be empty much longer. We knew someone was moving in. Work was being done.

It was a bit before a banner went up announcing who was moving in. There was not much information at the time. We just knew a name.

In the short time since that sign went up, they have opened up. The banner has come down which made me wonder if they really were open. I drove by, though, and the open sign is up. The Sumo signage is still up, but it is not Sumo, (The Sumo signs were taken down late last week) New signs going up reflecting the new name.

It is Sobee Sushi & Noodles, when I first looked, there were no social media pages for them. Luckily that has changed too. That page has given out a little more information that I was not aware of when I first looked into their place. According to their page:

Japanese and Thai Cuisine
Sister restaurant of Amarillo's Sushi House 1&2

So they are part of the same family as the Sushi House in Wolflin Square and the one in Town Square. That does give this new place really some excitement. Both of those places are great. It only goes to reason that this place will be too.

Sobee Sushi & Noodles is now open. They have been for a few days. If you drive by, you may be confused, but go inside and you won't be anymore. Follow them on their social media too.

According to the Google listing they are open daily from 9 am - 3 pm and then again from 5 pm until 9 pm. You can find them near I-40 and Bell in the former Sumo location.
